ACCIONA Energía is seeking a Gamesa Expert Wind Turbine Technician to support operations and maintenance of wind turbines at our Dempsey Ridge Wind Farms. This position requires in-depth experience with Gamesa G80-G90 wind turbine models, as well as a strong focus on safety, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.

Job Description

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform specialized maintenance, repair, assembly, commissioning, and testing of Gamesa G80-G90 wind turbines and related equipment.

  • Troubleshoot and retrofit low- to medium-voltage electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic turbine components.

  • Conduct safety analyses and follow lock-out/tag-out and NFPA 70E procedures.

  • Support Root Cause Analyses to determine and address equipment failures.

  • Ensure accurate documentation of maintenance tasks and compliance with site procedures.

  • Maintain and use tools, PPE, and safety systems according to established safety protocols.

  • Climb turbines (up to 300 feet) and perform work in various environmental conditions.

  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills and Competencies

About you:

You’re an experienced wind technician with a deep understanding of Gamesa G80-G90 systems and a strong commitment to safety and technical excellence. You thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy hands-on problem-solving, and are capable of working both independently and as part of a team.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school education preferred

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working specifically with Gamesa G80-G90 wind turbines

  • GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) and NFPA 70E certifications required

  • Strong knowledge of turbine schematics and electrical systems

  • Ability to work in confined spaces, extreme weather, and heights up to 300 feet

  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to reach the wind farm within 45 minutes for emergency response

  • Willingness to travel for training or temporary work assignments

  • Eligible for a U.S. Passport

  • Ability to be certified to work on medium and high-voltage equipment
