This ground-breaking initiative provides access to the Company's Annual Report via iPhone, Blackberry or Android enabled terminals and devices
Madrid, June 7th 2011. ACCIONA has launched a web app for iPhone, Android or Blackberry enabled smart devices that lets the Company's shareholders access the ACCIONA annual report at any time from their smart devices/phones. The move comes in the wake of a spectacular rise in visits to the ACCIONA website in 2010 via smart devices: a 5,000% increase in the case of iPhone and Blackberry terminals, and a 35,000% leap in the case of Android OS enabled devices, according to Google Analytics. The aim is to maximize accessibility to corporate information on ACCIONA.
In 2009, ACCIONA opened new ground in the adoption of good corporate digital practice in digital format when the Company's annual report incorporated the Triple Bottom Line principle and featured, apart from the standard economic and financial data, a complete array of social and environmental indicators for year 2008. This triple focus gave shape to the Annual Report 2008 and virtually eliminated the print version, replacing it with an internet-based format. This technological leap made ACCIONA's annual report a more sustainable and eco-friendly product, avoiding the 3,000 four-volume print copies that made up the original Report, and with only a Summary Report remaining in print form. The digital version of the Annual Report avoided the consumption of 11,134kg of paper, the equivalent of felling 167 trees.
