TRIBE intends to promote energy efficiency awareness and guide users of public buildings towards a more rational use of energy.

Moreover, the project aims to encourage the use of Information Communication Technologies (ICTs) with a view to achieving greater energy saving levels in this type of buildings.

The buildings chosen seek to represent different types of edifices and users. Among the demonstration buildings are Özyeğin University, an office building, a block of social housing flats belonging to Zaragoza Vivienda, the Instituto Azucarera in Zaragoza, and CIRCE's own headquarters, which houses offices and labs.

Goals

The overall objective of the TRIBE project is to contribute to a citizen´s behaviour change towards energy efficiency in public buildings, through their engagement in the experience of playing a social game, linked by ICT monitoring system to real data regarding their temperature, degree of occupation, energy consumption and so on. The real data will be collected from 5 pilot buildings including academic, living and workspaces environments.  The social game will enable users to learn all about the repercussion their behavior has on bulding’s energy consumption in a fun and easy way, as well as providing players with options on how to improve it.

Besides developing this social game for the public at large, TRIBE will also create a tool to aid public administrations, public building owners and property developers in designing energy efficiency plans for their buildings, which will contemplate the use of ICTs and user involvement.
