This four-lane, 8.6km-long link road we have constructed, with Rizzani de Eccher and BESIX, represents a new alternative for crossing the fjord.
To realize this, we designed and built a two-way motorway passing by Marbaekvej, Torslev Hage, Frederikssundvej and Skibbyvej, whose main structure is a 1.36km-long concrete bridge connecting the eastern and western shores of the fjord. The substructure of the bridge – named High Bridge – consists of 16 piles.
The experience of ACCIONA, and the rest of the companies in the consortium, really sets them apart. They have regularly participated in projects in Natura 2000 network areas and this has been essential in making a success out of the proposal presented to the Danish Transport Ministry’s Directorate-General for Roads, our client. The Natura 2000 network is made up of protected areas which aim to conserve biodiversity and wildlife habitats in the European Union, including the fjord over which the highway crosses.
In line with our proposal to create a lasting relationship with the community around this mega-infrastructure, we undertook several social initiatives benefiting over 2,000 people in 2017. Among them:
Initiatives through which ACCIONA aims to build a community and improve daily life around Roskilde fjord, showing that we do business differently. Society and the planet are our priorities.
