  •   ACCIONA Agua chosen to design desalination plant in Perth, Australia

    Following an international tender involving seven bidders, the consortium comprising ACCIONA Agua and its partner, United Utilities Australia, has been shortlisted, with another finalist, for the contract to build and operate a desalination plant in Perth, Australia.

    Approximate total revenue for the construction and 25-year operation of the plant is between 300-400 million euro; it will supply water to 400,000 people.

  •   ACCIONA opens one of the first service station in Spain selling biodiesel and bioethanol

    It is located on the "Autovía del Camino" (A-12) highway 10 miles south-west of the city of Pamplona, capital of the region of Navarre.

    The Regional Minister for Public Works, Transport and Communications of the Government of Navarre presided over the opening ceremony.

    The service station has been designed to bio-construction criteria and incorporates thermal and photovoltaic solar panels.

    ACCIONA has reached an agreement to sell its minority stakes in five concessions to FCC Construcción and Corporación Financiera Caja Madrid for a total of 101.3 million euro.

  •   ACCIONA begins implementation of specific sustainability strategies in other countries

    The first countries selected are Poland, the US, Canada, Mexico, Chile and Brazil.

    In 2007, ACCIONA's activities and businesses avoided a total of 4.77 million tonnes of CO2 emissions to the atmosphere (20% more than in 2006).

    Last year, ACCIONA joined the Dow Jones Sustainability Index as sector leader, and was included among the Global 100: Most Sustainable Corporations in the World.

  •   ACCIONA Real Estate puts new eco-efficient housing development in downtown Alicante on the market

    The eco-efficient design will avoid the emission of 2,800 tonnes of CO2, save enough energy for a car to go around the world 480 times, and save enough water to maintain a football field for a year.

    The Las Palmeras development comes on sale just as the first homes at Los Pelícanos, also in Alicante, are being delivered to buyers.
