ACCIONA Agua focuses on the treatment of water and reverse osmosis desalination, a technology in which it is the world leader. It offers a full range of services in the integral water cycle and its scope of activity includes the project design and construction of desalination plants and waste water treatment plants; operation and maintenance; the supply of drinking water and sanitation of cities.

In addition, ACCIONA Agua has consolidated its status as a world water industry leader thanks to its R&D activity, which has given rise to 16 patents. The Company is the main worldwide benchmark for sea water desalination processes using Reverse Osmosis.

In 2010, the readers of the world water industry's leading journal, Global Water Intelligence (GWI), named ACCIONA Agua the World's Best Water Company. In 2011, the Company received further GWI awards for the Atotonilco WWTP, in Mexico, (Best Contract) and the Beckton desalination plant in the UK (Best Desalination Plant).
