Job Description

In Australia, ACCIONA is delivering the Alkimos Seawater Desalination Plant, a landmark project that will secure Perth’s water future and support long-term sustainability for the community.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Project Engineer - Electrical & I&C, you will be responsible for the delivery of Electrical, Instrumentation and Control systems across the project lifecycle. This includes supporting design coordination, construction, installation, integration, and commissioning of complex E&I systems.

You will play a critical role in ensuring that all electrical and control system works are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with technical specifications, project schedules, and quality standards.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a major infrastructure project while advancing your expertise in complex industrial electrical and control systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with electrical safety standards, environmental requirements, and project procedures
  • Coordinate and review electrical and I&C construction methodologies, installation work packs, and testing procedures
  • Manage planning and scheduling of E&I activities, ensuring alignment with project milestones and commissioning sequences
  • Oversee installation, calibration, and integration of instrumentation, control systems (PLC/SCADA), and electrical infrastructure
  • Ensure compliance with design specifications, drawings, QA/QC requirements, and relevant standards (AS/NZS, IEC)
  • Monitor subcontractor performance across electrical and I&C packages, including switchboards, cabling, field instrumentation, and control systems
  • Support procurement, inspection, and delivery of electrical equipment and instrumentation (MCCs, transformers, analyzers, field devices, etc.)
  • Contribute to cost control, forecasting, and commercial reporting for E&I scope
  • Assist in risk management, including identification of technical risks in control systems integration and electrical interfaces
  • Apply digital engineering tools (BIM, 3D models, digital twins) to coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces
  • Provide technical support during FAT, SAT, commissioning, and start-up phases

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or related discipline
  • Proven experience delivering Electrical and/or I&C packages on industrial or infrastructure projects (e.g., water treatment, mining, energy, utilities)
  • Strong understanding of: Instrumentation (measurement, control valves, analyzers), Control systems (PLC, SCADA, DCS), Electrical systems (LV/MV distribution, MCCs, drives)
  • Experience with installation, testing, and commissioning of E&I systems
  • Knowledge of QA/QC processes, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and relevant standards
  • Familiarity with project planning tools such as Primavera P6 (desirable)
  • Strong stakeholder coordination and interface management skills
  • Exposure to digital engineering tools (BIM, GIS, or similar platforms) is advantageous
