Job Description
The Project
ACCIONA has been selected to deliver Western Harbour Tunnel – Stage 2, Sydney’s third harbour crossing. The new Western Harbour Tunnel (WHT) will connect to WestConnex at the Rozelle Interchange, cross underneath Sydney Harbour between Birchgrove and Waverton, and connect with the Warringah Freeway near North Sydney.
Project scope includes:
- Construction of approximately 4.8 kilometres of mainline tunnels with three lanes in each direction
- Civil, Mechanical and Electrical fitout of Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunnels
- Surface level work, including on and off ramps and tie-in work to the Warringah Freeway
Key accountabilities for the position:
- Perform testing and commissioning of LV switchboards, motor starters, and associated systems
- Conduct functional testing and interpret PLC programming logic
- Develop and maintain test documentation, ensuring compliance with project standards
- Collaborate with design teams to deliver LV electrical designs for industrial applications
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during commissioning phases
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project milestones are met
- Ensure safety and compliance with relevant electrical standards and regulations
Required Skills and Competencies
Capability & Experience you will need to have:
- 3–10 years of hands-on experience in LV electrical commissioning and design
- Background in Tier 1, 2 or 3 companies
- Proven experience in industrial environments such as mining, water, process plants, or tunnels
- Strong understanding of PLC systems, functional testing, and documentation standards
- Excellent communication skills
