The Opportunity
ACCIONA’s Specialist Businesses, comprising ACCIONA Rail, Geotech, Australian Precast Solutions, and ACCIONA Mechanical & Electrical provide integrated expertise for Australia's landmark infrastructure projects. With a robust pipeline of future projects, these specialist divisions deliver comprehensive solutions across rail, geotechnical engineering, precast concrete, and mechanical and electrical systems
The role of Accountant will assist with overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations. This role has the added responsibility of working incredibly close to the business and its projects, requiring a high level of stakeholder engagement across various project teams and the ability to convey information clearly and concisely.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, month-end and year-end close processes, reconcile accounts, and analyse financial data
- Fulfil regulatory reporting compliance requirements for primary and supplementary financial statements and disclosures
- Assist in identifying, verifying and analysing variances between budgeted or projected and actual financial results, and the impacts on cash flow, working capital provisions and balance sheet
- Assist in the implementation of financial policies and controls to support the strategy formation processes, including data gathering structures, SWOT analysis and other strategic planning techniques
- Identify trends and innovations in professional financial control practice to support program evaluation and stronger commercial focus
Required Skills and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce or similar
- Completed or currently undertaking CA/CAP qualification
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Experience within a complex project environment, Civil/Rail Infrastructure highly desirable but not essential
- Demonstrated high level of stakeholder engagement
