Job Description
The Opportunity
The Design Manager is responsible for the end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of the civil design scope within a project. This key role ensures that all design activities are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with technical, contractual, and regulatory requirements. Acting as the primary liaison, the Delivery Lead coordinates between the client, subconsultants, and key project stakeholders to drive successful outcomes.
Key responsibilities:
Oversees the planning, execution, and delivery of the civil design scope within a project.
Ensures design completion on time, within budget, and in line with all technical, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
Acts as the primary point of contact for the client, subconsultants, and project stakeholders.
Coordinates cross-functional teams to maintain project alignment and progress.
Drives quality and accountability throughout the civil design delivery process.
Required Skills and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
Proven experience in engineering design and coordination, with a strong track record in managing multidisciplinary design packages for infrastructure or construction projects.
In-depth knowledge of local design codes and standards (e.g., AS, Austroads, or equivalent).
Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders.
Solid understanding of construction methodologies and processes.
