Lead and define the strategic direction of the Engineering & Construction department, ensuring alignment with ACCIONA’s overall business objectives and close coordination with Business Development, Production, and Energy Management teams.

Job Description

1. Strategic Leadership & Project Oversight

  • Define and lead the strategic direction of Engineering & Construction activities.
  • Oversee the execution of all projects, ensuring quality, safety, budget adherence, and timely delivery.
  • Guide project planning, design, budgeting, and execution phases.
  • Promote innovation and continuous improvement across processes and teams.

2. Cross-Functional & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Collaborate with Business Development, Production, and Energy teams.
  • Lead commercial and technical negotiations with clients, suppliers, engineering firms, and grid service providers.
  • Represent ACCIONA in dealings with external partners, statutory bodies, and industry stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective communication and alignment among internal and external stakeholders.

3. Financial & Contractual Management

  • Develop and manage project budgets (CAPEX/OPEX).
  • Lead bidding, procurement, and cost control activities.
  • Ensure contractual and financial compliance in all engineering and construction projects.
  • Identify and implement cost optimization opportunities.

4. Team Leadership, Safety & Compliance

  • Drive a strong safety culture and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Lead, train, and develop engineering and construction teams.
  • Conduct safety and risk assessments, ensuring standards are met throughout project lifecycles.
  • Oversee internal reporting, audits, and performance monitoring systems.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field (Master’s preferred).
  • Certifications: Additional training or certification in renewable energy construction projects is a plus.
  • Experience: 15 or more years of progressive experience in roles within engineering, construction, or infrastructure project management.  5 years experience in people management.
  • Languages: Advanced level of English (spoken and written); other languages a plus.

  • Base Pay: $205,000 - $270,000 (based on experience, education, and skillset)
