Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee the technical design, feasibility studies, and cost estimates for community-based water supply and sanitation systems, ensuring alignment with industry standards, national policies, and local needs.
- Manage the end-to-end execution of WASH projects, including procurement, construction, and quality assurance, to ensure timely and within-budget delivery.
- Collaborate with local communities to assess needs and ensure project sustainability through participatory approaches.
- Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, NGOs, local leaders and communities, and other partners to align project goals and secure necessary support.
- Track project progress, evaluate outcomes, and prepare detailed reports for internal and external stakeholders to demonstrate impact and inform future initiatives.
- Analysis and proper recording of invoices, income, costs, surveys, contracts, other documentation, etc.
- Ensure the availability of this data in case the Manager or others, such as public institutions or stakeholders, may require it.
- Identification of suppliers and market analysis of WASH technologies and supplies
- Supervision and management of the inventory related to all equipment.
- Coordination to send the issued systems to the acciona.org Philippines supplier repair workshop.
- Preparation, management, and control of the budget and annual work plan.
- Continuous coordination with Finance for activities related to billing and other administrative requirements.
- Monthly generation of reports.
Required Skills and Competencies
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in any Engineering course.
- Advanced degrees or certifications in WASH or project management are a plus.
Competency Profile:
- At least 2 years of experience in designing and implementing water and sanitation projects, preferably in rural community settings. Strong technical expertise in water supply and sanitation system design, including costing and feasibility analysis, is a plus.
- Experience in community development or participatory approaches is highly desirable.
- Versatility for the execution of diverse functions.
- Ability to engage with formal and informal structures. Flexibility.
- Intermediate/advanced knowledge in office tools: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proven project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deliver results in resource-constrained environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective community and stakeholder engagement. Fluency in English and Tagalog is required.
- Proficiency in project monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
Other Requirements:
- Availability to travel to project sites.
- Leadership, initiative, communication skills, and the ability to work in a team.
