The Position
The Project Manager reports to the National Operations Manager Substations and is responsible for the planning, execution and closing of projects related to High Voltage infrastructure including but not limited to High Voltage Substations and Battery Energy Storage Projects and related equipment.
The successful candidate with develop and foster strong relationships, offering coaching, leadership, mentoring, motivation and emotional support.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure that contractual profitability and obligations are met and maintained, working with all relevant teams to manage internal and external resources and deliver the objectives of the project, on time and on budget.
Monitor and report on project delivery costs and develop strategies and recommendations for recovery actions in the event of overruns
Ensure that the master project program is maintained up to date on a rolling monthly basis and accurately reflects the as-built dates for the activities, delay events and any resequencing of activities
Prepare, manage and track budgets and financial reports, quote and estimate from 1st principles to ensure accurate costing and forecasting of the project
Review the drawings and specifications to produce a Completion Report Tracker prior to undertaking the works, which is built upon and closed out during project delivery
Contract Administration (issue Requests for Direction (RfDs), Notices of Delay (NoDs) / Extensions of Time (EoTs); raise claims and variations).
Required Skills and Competencies
Bachelor of Engineering (or similar) or Project Management Qualifications or demonstrate experience in the delivery of projects related to High Voltage substations and similar infrastructure
At least 10 years of experience as a project manager or project engineer in industry related disciplines such as Distribution or Transmission Infrastructure
Experience in MS Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent scheduling software
Current drivers licence
Ability to travel intra and interstate to attend project sites
