Photovoltaic installation carried out in record time at the time

When ACCIONA grid connected the Amareleja solar plant (Portugal) in 2008 it successfully overcame the challenge of installing the biggest photovoltaic plant to date, in a record 13 months. A clear demonstration of the company’s technological capacity.

ACCIONA was a pioneer when it built the 45.78 MWp Amareleja plant, one of the biggest in the world equipped with tracking throughout the solar field when it was installed.

It has 2,520 solar trackers (proprietary technology) that incorporate 262,080 photovoltaic modules. These produce around 93 GWh per year, equivalent to the demand from around 30,000 homes.
