    ACCIONA has been operating in the country since October 2009

    It obtained its first contract for construction and start-up of the Peravia Water Treatment Plant (86,400 m³/day), which includes the works of a supply network for supplying water to an initial population of 138,000 people, expandable to more than 300,000 people. The project is currently under construction and is managed from ACCIONA's office in Santo Domingo.

    Peravia DWTP

    Peravia Drinking Water Treatment Plant (DWTP) in Dominican Republic, with a flow of 86.400 m3/day, provides the local population of approximately 138,000 inhabitants with a greatly required infrastructure. Peravia province has been blighted by a shortage of drinking water for more than 40 years. The project consisted of the construction and commissioning of the plant, which includes the works of a 17,5 km adduction line and the water supply network for the surrounding villages.

    Restorarion of 13 beaches

    The project, which is due to last 30 months, includes construction of various port and dock structures, dredging work and topping up beaches with sand, raising existing highways, installing mooring buoys and auxiliary facilities (signage, showers…) and walkways on the sand, as well as cleaning work. The beaches that will be restored include several located in the most popular tourist areas and idyllic parts of the country such as the Cabeza de Toro, Macao and Arena Gorda-Cortecito beaches in Punta Cana.
