Red Pacto Mundial - ACCIONA

Red Pacto Mundial España

The Global Compact is an international initiative proposed by the United Nations. It aims to enlist the voluntary commitment of organizations in matters of social responsibility, through the implementation of ten principles based on human rights, labor issues, environmental concerns and anti-corruption measures.

The Spanish network is one of the most active networks and features a multistakeholder model that brings together different stakeholders: businesses, NGOs, trade unions, academic institutions and social agencies.

In 2010, ACCIONA was involved in the development of the Spanish Global Compact Guide against Corruption: "Fighting Corruption and Promoting Transparency".

The guide is the result of the working group which developed its content and design throughout 2010.

Participants shared their experiences to shape the publication, which contains real examples from the entities involved: ACCIONA, Abertis, BBVA, Caja de Ahorros del Mediterráneo (CAM), Cofides, Fundación Carolina, Banco Santander, Iberdrola, IE Business School, Javierre, Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade, Siemens and Transparency International.

This is the first publication that features tools for corruption risk prevention, management and control. The aim of the guide is to provide keys to analyze the risks faced by companies in terms of corruption and to propose adequate tools for managing these risks.
