Web accessibility

Our websites allow universal access to information in support of the integration of the disabled.

At ACCIONA, in accordance with our commitment to the integration of the disabled, our corporate website (www.acciona.com) is created in line with the Accessibility Guidelines defined by the permanent work group Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI), of the Consortium for the World Wide Web, on its AA level.

Further, as a part of the process of improvement and homogenization of the websites of the different businesses and the new corporate style that's being implemented across all group sites, accessibility is also a top priority.

We aim to reach everyone and the double A standard allows for broad access especially for those with a physical or mental handicap, thus reducing barriers to information.

The main measures adopted for guaranteeing accessibility include the following:

  • XHTML and style sheets that comply with XHTML 1.0 and CSS of W3C validations.
  • Size of text: The fonts used have relative dimensions, so that the user may control the size from his or her browser.
  • Design, browsing and interactivity: The innovative design ensures more efficient display of the contents. The aim is also to achieve coherent browsing throughout the web, using the same structural outlines on all pages.
  • Keyboard shortcuts. A series of keyboard shortcuts is defined for access to the browser menu options and for the links included at the foot of the page. These shortcuts will vary depending the browser used.
  • Videos and images. The videos are subtitled and the images are of alternate texts, so they can be understood by people with visual and auditory difficulties.

All this makes for greater usability, and clearer and more intuitive browsing so that users may easily find information. This initiative is part of ACCIONA's commitment to sustainability; by providing universally-accessible information we differentiate ourselves from the competition with a socially-responsible attitude.
