United Nations Global Compact

ACCIONA has been a member of the United Nations Global Compact since 2005. This is an initiative which is freely open to subscription and is based upon the commitment to adopt, support and enact a series of fundamental values in the fields of Human and Labour Rights, the Environment and the Fight Against Corruption.
We in ACCIONA have committed ourselves to incorporate these principles in our daily activities and we inform society transparently of the improvements carried out in implementing them through a Communication on Progress presented publicly each year by ACCIONA President, José Manuel Entrecanales.
Caring for Climate
In its commitment to tackling climate change, ACCIONA forms part of Caring for Climate, an international initiative created by the Global Compact with the support of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).
Caring for Climate is an experience-sharing platform for business leaders from both developed and developing countries. The fact that it is an international initiative means that, on the one hand, its objectives transcend national interests while thus responding to a global problem with supernational solutions, and; on the other hand, help to strengthen the final aim of mitigating the consequences of climate change at the global level.
Across the world, 328 companies are members of Caring for Climate.

Seal the Deal!
The global "Seal the Deal!" campaign led by the
United Nations aims to foster the political will and public support
needed to reach a worldwide climate agreement this December at the
COP 15 Copenhagen Summit.
World governments are to meet at the summit to seal a new deal on climate change and this agreement has to be ambitious, fair and efficient in reducing emissions.
ACCIONA, as a participant in the Global Compact and a company committed to tackling climate change, has joined the "Seal the Deal!" initiative.
