Innovation has archieved the following awards
ACCIONA is a leader in innovative intensity with a 6.7% investment on EBITDA among European electric power and construction companies according to KPMG 2010 and to the data of the 2009 EU R&D Industrial Investment Scoreboard report prepared by the European Commission.
ACCIONA continues to be among the top ten Spanish companies in all sectors which invest most in R&D according to the R&D European Industrial Scoreboard prepared by the EU Research DG. Specially, it is ranked in sixth position, only after companies from other sectors where, traditionally, for reasons of their activity, a greater R&D investment is required, such as is the case of the pharmaceutical, the biotechnology or the ICTindustry. This same ranking positions ACCIONA as the leading company in the "construction and materials" sector.
ACCIONA is consolidating its positioning with regard to participation in R&D programs and is becoming the Spanish company with the most National Strategic Consortia in Technical Research (CENIT) projects (thirteen) in the Ingenio 2010 program. It is also taking part more than 100 projects of other of Spain's nationwide and Autonomous Community programs.
European Leadership
ACCIONA continues to be a reference point in the European research environment, heading and participating in the main European initiatives. It is the fourth-ranked Spanish company with regard to its participation in the 7th Framework Program.
ACCIONA is also heading the main European technological platforms. It is a member of the High Level Group of the European Construction Technology Platform and is jointly heading the European Energy-Efficient Buildings Joint Technology Initiative (E2B JTI). Similarly, it is actively involved in the ARTEMISEmbedded Systems JTI, with a special focus on that which has to do with technologies and systems applicable to Energy-Efficient Buildings, on the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology Platform, on the European Solar Thermal Technology Platform and is an outstanding member of the International Desalination Association and of the Water Technology Platform.
n The commitment to scientific and technological research and development has been recognized by Spain's Royal Academy of Engineering with the award of the Academiae Dilecta 2006 prize.
Management System
Its intense activity as well as the excellence of its performance have been recognized at top level by means of the certification of its R&D Management System by the reference standard UNE166002:2006.
