Climate change is an environmental issue that has come to forefront of public opinion in advanced countries. The phenomenon is global, threatening and increasingly perceptible, so actions to curtail global warming have become an unavoidable priority also for companies.

Our position on Climate Change

Through our Energy business, ACCIONA assumes the responsibility of becoming an international benchmark, showcasing the feasibility, both technical and financial, of a new, innovative and sustainable energy model.

ACCIONA is a world leader in renewable energy, active in eight clean technologies: wind, biomass, solar photovoltaic, solar thermal, solar thermoelectric, small hydro, biodiesel and bioethanol.

In 2010, ACCIONA increased its installed capacity in wind, solar thermal, biomass and hydraulic, positioning ACCIONA's installed capacity by the end of 2010 at 7,587 MW, of which 6,704 MW are attributable capacity. We generated 18,574 GWh in 2010, of which 16,335 GWh was attributable capacity, up 39% from the previous year.

ACCIONA has a significant international presence, with renewable presence in twelve countries. In 2010, 26% of total renewable generation was outside Spain.
