The plant represents an investment of 50 million euros and will create around 100 permanent jobs.
The 16 MW capacity facility will use 102,000 metric tons a year of this agricultural waste material to produce electricity equivalent to the consumption of 40,000 homes.
The development company for the plant is participated in by the Ente Regional de la Energía (EREN) of the region of Castilla y Leon.
ACCIONA thus consolidates itself as the main Spanish reference in the use of herbaceous agricultural biomass for electricity production.
