The new Barcelona Ferry Terminal -the Port of Barcelona's largest cargo and passenger facility-, which will be run as a concession by ACCIONA Trasmediterránea until 2029, was officially opened today in Barcelona. In 2008, ACCIONA Trasmediterranea managed at the Port of Barcelona 1,924 vessel connections; 863,257 passengers and 173,000 passenger-driven vehicles; four million linear metres of cargo and 100,000 new vehicles.
The Barcelona Ferry Terminal also gives service to other companies, including the Italian shipping lines GNV and Grimaldi Lines and the Algerian line ENTMV. ACCIONA Trasmediterránea also has plans to add new destinations from Barcelona and is looking at developing a new cargo and passenger link between Barcelona, Tanger Med and the French port of Sete.
