ACCIONA distinguished with the Cermi Award for Workplace Integration of Disabled People

The Spanish Committee of Representatives of Disabled People have give recognition to ACCIONA's commitment to the inclusion of disabled people in their workforce and for asking for similar requirements from their suppliers

ACCIONA has received an award from The Spanish Committee of Representatives of Disabled People (Cermi) in the "Workplace Integration" category for developing a strategy that "goes beyond its legal obligations". The awards ceremony was attended by the ACCIONA Chief Corporate Resources Officer, Alfonso Callejo, who received the award on the Company's behalf from Spain's Minister of Public Health, Leyre Pajín.

The panel of judges highlighted the innovative nature of the measures adopted by all ACCIONA divisions and placed particular emphasis on "the decision to require all suppliers to comply with the legal right of employment of disabled people", which "gives rise to multiple effects in favour of dignified and quality work for this social group". This award comes as recognition of ACCIONA's commitment to hire physically, mentally and sensorially challenged, not only in the Company's own internal organisation but also in its offering of products and services and in relation with the Company's suppliers.

ACCIONA's attitude of firm commitment is a long-standing one. Disabled people make up 2.47% of the ACCIONA workforce, half a point above legal requirements.
Recognition also comes through ACCIONA's membership of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index and the World Business Council for Sustainability Development, which value positively this commitment and practice. Similarly, ACCIONA's annual report is put together the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI-G3) standards, making the Company a pioneer in this field.
