Stakeholder groups

ACCIONA maintains an open and honest dialogue with its stakeholder groups.

A strategic objective for our company is the involvement of our different stakeholder groups. An awareness of the demands and expectations of stakeholders is crucial for the social acceptance and the success of ACCIONA’s business plans.

ACCIONA seeks to create stable relationships and exploit channels of communication with its principal stakeholder groups to be able to evaluate the risks and opportunities arising the in the social environment of its activities.

In 2007, ACCIONA identified the main groups of stakeholders in the key markets. The main purpose was to set up communication channels with these groups and establish a relationship model that would help promote social trust. The identified groups include: employees, shareholders, customers, suppliers, analysts and investors, opinion makers and the media, government and public administrators, NGOs, Corporate Social Responsibility and Regional Communities.

Once identified, ACCIONA developed an extensive consultation process with stakeholder groups in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Chile and Poland in order to communicate its commitment to sustainability and development. Furthermore, it was able to understand the expectations of a leading company in sustainability in those markets. The information acquired in the consultation process, with social and environmental analysis of these countries, will enable ACCIONA to develop a more effective action plan on sustainable development specifically adapated for each market.

ACCIONA seeks to create stable relationships and the promote communication channels in order to evaluate risks and opportunities in the social environment in which it operates.

In 2007, important achievements were attained for a better awareness of social expectations regarding sustainable development for the preparation of ACCIONA’s political and strategic plans.
