Minihydraulic
ACCIONA operates 19 mini hydro-electric stations located on different river basins in Navarra (Spain), with a total installed power of 58.79 MW.
The hydro-electric production of these installations in 2006 amounted to a total 164 million kilowatt hours and, in the first six months of 2007, this came to 139 million kWh. ACCIONA also assumes responsibility for the operation and maintenance of another six hydro-electric installations.
In addition, ACCIONA Infrastructures is currently constructing the mini hydroelectric station of Ojos de Agua in Chile, on behalf of Endesa Chile. The project was recorded in the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, becoming the first project participated in by ACCIONA Infrastructures to reach the circuit established in the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) of the Kyoto Protocol, and the second hydro-electric project in Chile in this category. It is expected to come into operation during the first half of 2008.
